Bob Sanders, Dave Duerson, Dale Earnhardt and Friday's Late Sports Buzz

Bob Sanders, Dave Duerson, and Dale Earnhardt represent but a few of the names that are lighting up the sports headlines on this late Friday afternoon. As you no doubt have heard, there has also been some major movement regarding a certain forward for the Denver Nuggets. But for that, I'll direct you to our Carmelo Anthony Trade Coverage.

In any case, Bob Sanders, the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year, was released by the Indianapolis Colts today. The oft-injured safety has played in just nine games over the last three seasons, and the reality is that the Colts just couldn't afford to keep him around anymore, especially not with Peyton Manning due for a payday.

The football world was hit with sad news, as former Chicago Bears and Notre Dame defensive back Dave Duerson was found dead in his Miami home today. Duerson was 50, and what caused his death has yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, this weekend's Daytona 500 will represent the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's tragic death, and it more or less goes without saying that his memory is weighing heavily on the event. We shall discuss.
All this and more is ahead. Happy Friday, folks.
