Carmelo Anthony Knicks Jersey Will Become Popular Among Gamblers

Gamblers love nothing more than to walk into a Las Vegas sports book wearing their favorite players' jersey and place a bet on that players team. On Monday evening, that dream was realized by thousands of New York Knicks fans.

The Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes have now come to a conclusion, and Anthony will be heading back to the same arena where he played his college basketball. Anthony was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the Knicks on Monday evening.

For months, the rumors have been swirling about where Anthony would end up this season. The Nuggets knew Anthony would not sign a contract extension, and they worked diligently during all-star weekend to ensure that the star player was traded before the season resumed this week.

Anthony had been angling for a trade to New York since last summer. At times, it appeared that the New Jersey Nets were the front runners for Anthony's services, but the Knicks were always the forwards first choice. Now that Anthony has been traded, Knicks fans can start revealing their unrealistic expectations.

"We are going to win the Eastern Conference this year," said elated Knicks fan Marco Hollavaria, shortly after the Anthony trade was reported by several sources late Monday evening. "Carmelo, Amare, and Chauncey are just as good as those three guys in Miami.

Odds makers may not agree with Hollavaria's assessment of the Eastern Conference. As of early Tuesday, Boston and Miami were still the favorites to win the conference title, and the Chicago Bulls also had shorter odds than New York. With less than thirty games left, the Knicks may not have enough time to convince bettors and odds makers that they can win this season.
